- � CARMELO POLIDANO, Malta
- A teacher and social worker he has a special interest at providing youngsters with empowering skills, promoting their well being, identifying and developing their potential and thus
participating effectively in a democratic social environment. A graduate in Psychology and Social Work he worked as a Social Worker before embarking on the teaching career for the last seven years. He presently
teaches �Ethical and Moral Values� at Mother Teresa College, a pre-nursing school in Malta. He received other courses in Substance Abuse Prevention, Child Abuse< Computer Literacy, Business Operation
Management whilst has adequate experience in �Peer Leadership Courses�. He also attended seminars organised by the Council of Europe on Democracy. Carmelo is an active member of ECO: the Malta Ecological
Foundation; an environmental non - governmental organisation which was awarded the the Malta National Award �Youth in Society 2000�. On behalf of ECO, he attended several international meetings
including participation on the Executive Committee of the European Environmental Beareau. On the artistic side, Carmelo is a regular first clarinetist with the Queen Victoria Band of Zurrieq, he used to form part of the Maltese Youth Orchestra, playing the Bassoon, and participated in several stage performances (mainly musicals and operettas) at the main theatres in Malta. He also likes poetry and musical composition as leisure activities. However, the thing that he is mostly proud of is that he can be a true and genuine friend.
